What Makes the 'NEAT-A-WARD'® an Attractive Patient Bed for Hospital Use?

‘NEAT-A-WARD’® Patient Wallbeds comply fully with all current Infection Control, Health & Safety, Manual Handling and Flame Retardancy requirements.

‘NEAT-A-WARD’® Patient Wallbeds have been specifically engineered to withstand long term, heavy-duty, nightly use in busy Hospitals. The bed frames are guaranteed for a full 10 years, but will last much longer.

Virtually indestructible, hand welded, all-steel bed frames enable the ‘NEAT-A-WARD’® Patient Wallbeds to easily cope with loads of up to 200kg (singles) and 400kg (doubles) and sleep even overweight users, for extended periods, in total safety and comfort and at a convenient sleeping height.

NEAT-A-WARD’® Patient Wallbeds come with a wipe-clean/waterproof MEDIFLEX® mattress (usually blue, but colour can vary), flame retardant to Ignition Source 5 with a zip-on/zip-off replaceable cover and can be cleaned as you would a normal Hospital bed and mattress, using the same (your usual) cleaning agents. The bedding retaining straps supplied with our wall beds can also be wiped clean.

NEAT-A-WARD’® Patient Wallbeds are designed to be easy and intuitive to handle and use. The front legs and Backrest open out and retract automatically, as the bed is deployed/pivoted away. Because the mattress does not need to fold, the bed can be pivoted away fully made up (in literally seconds in an emergency) and can also be made up freshly between patients, then pivoted away ready for the next patient.

NEAT-A-WARD’® Patient Wallbeds safety features include counterbalancing, automatic leg action and Back Rest action, no sharp edges and clear wipe-clean, laminated, safety/operating instructions, permanently fixed to and prominently displayed on every bed.

NEAT-A-WARD’® Patient Wallbeds are supported by a full spares and after-sales service. This includes optional periodic servicing – (we recommend a full service just once every 5 years). We are also able to arrange for the installation and/or relocation of our wall bed frames.

Over the course of their exceptionally long service lives NEAT-A-WARD’® Patient Wallbeds have a lower carbon footprint than less resilient products, assessed over the same period.

Our ‘NEAT-A-WARD’® Patient Wallbeds Pay For Themselves By Saving Money In Several Ways

  • Ease of handling leads to lower staff workload and reduced operating costs.
  • Ultra-long service lives maximise value for money and can result in substantial cost savings.

Key Features

'NEAT-A-WARD'® Patient Wallbeds For Rest Facilities In Rooms With No Hospital Bed

Used primarily in Midwifery-led Birthing Centres for straightforward births, the ‘NEAT-A-WARD’® Patient Wallbed allows instant access, when required and will accommodate both parents in comfort.

When opened out ready for use, the ‘NEAT-A-WARD’® is higher off the ground than most other wallbeds, for more convenient nursing access and additionally incorporates a sloping Back Rest, against which the patient can be propped up on pillows. This Back Rest is deployed and retracted automatically, as the bed is lowered and pivoted away.

  • The ‘NEAT-A-WARD’® Patient Wallbed comes in a range of standard and made-to-measure, single and double sizes and in 10 bedframe colours.
  • Automatically opening and retracting front legs and heavy-duty counterbalancing springs, make for safe, smooth and easy operation.

To go with our ‘NEAT-A-WARD’® Patient Wallbeds, we offer our high specification, wipe-clean/waterproof ‘MEDIFLEX’® Mattress with removable (zip-on/off) cover, which is flame retardant to Ignition Source 5.

Removing the Clinical Feel from Birthing Units

The ‘NEAT-A-WARD’® Patient Wallbed is designed to be stowed away, fully made up and ready for instant use, if/when required in a special wall unit. The cabinetwork in which this bed and other medical equipment are housed, is typically architect designed, on a project by project, basis and supplied by the main contractor building, or fitting out the Birthing Centre, but we are also able to supply cabinetwork to house the ‘NEAT-A-WARD’® in a wide range of wipe-clean MFC and Plastic Laminate finishes. The idea of not having a hospital bed, is to make the room and the whole birthing experience feel less clinical.

Our Unique, Flexible, Wipe Clean Bedding Retaining Straps Allow Our 'NEAT-A-WARD'® Patient Wallbeds To Be Folded Away Complete With All The Bedding, Ready For Immediate Reuse

‘NEAT-A-WARD’® Patient Wallbeds come complete with wipe clean, flexible bedding retaining strap(s). These are permanently attached to the head end and are simply stretched across, when the bed has been made in the morning and hooked on to the opposite end/side, to hold the mattress and all the bedding securely in place when the bed is pivoted away. Just 1 central strap is needed to hold everything in place on singles and 2 straps on doubles – see picture. When the bed is in use, the straps can be stored safely out of the way behind the head end.
